A BOOK WITH UNIQUE MANUSCRIPTS OF GREAT POETS AND THINKERS TO BE PUBLISHED IN UZBEKISTAN FOR THE FIRST TIME

The World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan is working on an illustrated album-book dedicated to the collection of one of the best museums in Tashkent – the State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi.The colorful edition will tell about selected exhibits of the museum’s richest collection – about 100 rare manuscripts. The most unique of them is the manuscript of Alisher Navoi “Khamsa”, rewritten in 1842 in Kokand. The manuscript contains 45 rare, magnificent miniatures by medieval artists.The book will also include the manuscripts of Alisher Navoi “Badoe'-ul-Bidoya”, rewritten in Herat in 1486, Mahmud Zamakhshariy “Muqaddimat-ul-adab”, Alisher Navoi “Devon”, rewritten in Bukhara in 1526, Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur “Mubayyin”, copied in the 16th century.As the Chairman of the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Firdavs Abdukhalikov noted, truly rare and valuable treasures are stored in Uzbekistan, and the Society strives to make the whole world aware of this heritage.It is worth noting that the very building of the State Museum of Literature named after Alisher Navoi is a kind of work of art, a unique historical architectural monument, created in 1939 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Alisher Navoi’s birth.The exposition of the museum includes more than 17 thousand works of art, reflecting the centuries-old history of Uzbek culture and literature. More than 65 thousand documents about the life and work of writers of Uzbekistan are collected here.UzA
